Yes, both methods are designed with sensitivity in mind. Opalescence is especially suitable for such patients — its gentle formula with potassium nitrate reduces discomfort during and after the procedure. The doctor will first assess the condition of your teeth and if necessary use a desensitizing gel.
Flash whitening results last 6–12 months with proper care. Opalescence provides a lasting effect for up to 1–2 years. Duration depends on lifestyle, diet and following the doctor's recommendations.
The procedure is painless. During whitening, a mild feeling of warmth or tingling may occur — this is normal. After the procedure, temporary sensitivity may occur, which passes within 1–2 days. If necessary, the doctor will prescribe a desensitizing gel.
Whitening is not recommended for: caries and unfilled teeth, gum inflammation, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and children under 16. Persistent stains from tetracycline or fluorosis may respond weaker — in such cases, the doctor will suggest alternative solutions, such as veneers.
